Commercial Dive Specialists Ltd provide quality commercial diving services and marine construction in any underwater environment - using our safe and skilled dive team. 

Our clients are located throughout New Zealand within a number of industries including marine, biosecurity, construction and engineering.

We work with you to understand your objectives and provide pragmatic cost-effective solutions specific to your needs. You can expect an open and transparent relationship, as we understand the trust required when clients typically can't see what is happening underwater. 

Health and safety is the backbone to our operations and fundamental to every project we undertake. This tends to makes our dive team more effective and efficient in the water as the divers work with trust and confidence. We dive strictly to the Australasian dive standard AS/NZS 2299.1 and meet all the New Zealand standards.

Our People

Brook McRae (Managing Director) is a registered commercial diver who has worked onshore and offshore in both New Zealand and South East Asia. Types of diving have included marine biosecurity, shipping maintenance, heavy and light salvage, heavy and light construction including hydro dams, potable water and treatment plants, outfall pipelines, oil and gas pipelines, sea walls, bridges and many other civil infrastructure projects.

One of Brook's dive career highlights has been body recovery and damaged weapon survey on a naval submarine that exploded in front of his eyes in India https://youtu.be/YUrWOfnYlas. Most recently he has worked in the oil and gas industry as a saturation diver, working on pipelines while living at pressure for one month at a time.

Brook now enjoys the client side, and specialises in drawing on his underwater experience and practical knowledge to provide solutions for clients.

Outside of diving, Brook loves connecting people with what is happening below the surface and started up environmental educational venture Clearyak www.clearyak.co.nz which regularly hosts school and family groups. He also enjoys the network of colleagues and friends he has established around the world as a result of practicing in the marine and commercial diving field.
