Commercial Dive Specialists (CDS) strive to be a respected benchmark in the commercial diving industry and partner of choice for all our customers.
CDS provide quality commercial diving services and marine construction in any underwater environment - using our safe and skilled dive team.
Our customers are located throughout New Zealand within a number of industries including marine, biosecurity, construction, shipping and engineering.
You can expect an open and transparent relationship when working with us, as we understand the trust required when customers typically can't see what is happening underwater.
Health and safety is the backbone to our operations and fundamental to every project we undertake. This tends to makes our dive team more effective and efficient in the water as the divers work with trust and confidence. We dive strictly to the Australasian dive standard AS/NZS 2299.1 and meet all the New Zealand standards.

Brook McRae - Managing Director
Brook McRae is a passionate and experienced underwater professional, and founder of Commercial Dive Specialists based in the Bay of Islands and Warkworth (Auckland). With 17 years of diver experience on a broad range of onshore and offshore projects across New Zealand and South-East Asia, Brook has established a reputation for expertise, safety and innovative problem-solving in the industry.
His depth of knowledge includes oil and gas, heavy and light salvage, heavy and light construction including hydro dams, potable water and treatment plants, outfall pipelines, plus much more. Brook's personal dive career highlight so far has been body recovery and damaged explosive weapon survey inside a naval submarine in zero visibility, after it exploded and sunk on its berth with crew onboard at Mumbai Port in India https://youtu.be/YUrWOfnYlas.
Beyond his technical skills, he enjoys mentoring upcoming divers and is the industry rep on the Diving Industry Advisory Group (DIAG) that provides advice to WorkSafe around health and safety and regulatory improvements in occupational diving.
