A smaller version of the Rehabitat to treat small areas of sparse Caulerpa (less than 1 metre in size) was recently tested in Omakiwi Cove, Bay of Islands. At our recent trial, the Commercial Dive Specialists dive team was supported in the field by Cawthron Institute and Northland Regional Council (NRC) divers. Cawthron, who have been performing scientific testing and reporting for Rehabitat over the past year, conducted scientific testing and analysed the seabed ecology before and after treatment. Results from this trial are due to be published in March 2026.
